Religious Education shares the light of our Catholic faith with
students and their families by providing a foundation in the Creed, sacraments,
commandments, prayer and scripture, Liturgies of the Word and Eucharist and
commitment to service.
Cooperative effort of volunteer teachers and Confirmation
students provides a Sunday school experience for four and five year olds, which
introduces the presence of Jesus in their lives. Children's liturgy is
offered the fourth Sunday of the month to prepare students for life-long active
participation in Mass.
Grades one through five use the Loreto model, a thirty-five
hour hands on summer instructional program from the diocese of Worcester.
The weekly 8:30 am Mass includes a special 20 minute Liturgy of the Word segment
in classrooms. Middle school and Confirmation programs follow a youth ministry
model. Small classes led by our catechists take place throughout the
school year.
Sacramental programs prepare students for Reconciliation,
Eucharist and Confirmation. Enrichment and community service opportunities are
offered. Catechist formation is ongoing.
