Bereavement
St. Luke’s Bereavement Committee organizes receptions in the church hall following a parish funeral. This committee does not have scheduled meetings. When a parish collation is requested by the family, the parish office will reach out to some
Committee members a few days before the funeral to request their assistance at the reception.
Teams of volunteers help to set up the room, prepare coffee, assist caterers with placing food on the table, replenish food as needed during the reception, assist family members and guests with any requests they may have, and cleaning up the church hall afterwards.
Depending on committee members availability, members may choose to volunteer for only one component of the reception - set-up, service, or clean-up, or they may volunteer for the whole time period.
This year the Annual Mass of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the 5 pm Mass. At this time, parishioners and former parishioners who have died during the past year and buried from St. Luke's will be remembered in a special way.
