Respect Life
"You formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother’s womb. I praise you, because I am wonderfully made; wonderful are your works!"
Psalm 139: 13-14
Respect Life month
October 2025
"Each October the Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is observed as Respect Life Sunday. As Catholics, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its end, and at every point in between. During the month of October, the Church asks us to reflect more deeply on the dignity of every human life."
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

The Respect Life Apostolate within St. Luke's Parish is a very active one. We sponsor many events throughout the year, designed to pass on to our parishioners the Catholic Church's respect for life message; that is, that life is a gift from God, and is precious in His sight, and deserves our respect from the conception to natural death of all God's children.
Sadly, many in today's throw-away culture of death disregard this message. They consider life as just another commodity; that is, an object to be discarded whenever the life of another becomes inconvenient and burdensome to us.
Will you join us in passing on the respect life message? Please contact Jean Ernster.
